STUDENT LOANS FINISHED
I went to University from 1992 to 1996, just after the British government `froze` student grants and started offering student `top-up` loans.
In my 4 years, I had a student loan for 3 of the years. I also received a grant , which just about covered my rent, and the loan and money from my pert-time job was for living expenses. The 3rd year in the U.S. was a fairly expensive one, as we drove all over, going to New York, DC, California, and Florida, among other places.
So, anyway, I had a debt of a few thousand pounds when I arrived in Japan, and I started to repay the student loans in March 1998.
I was cleaning up my financial statements at the weekend, and I realised that March 2003 was MY LAST STUDENT LOAN PAYMENT.
Quite a nice feeling really. I feel like I have accomplished something big, even though the monthly payments were minimal...
Ironic that I am considering studying for an MBA, and thinking about getting a loan to do so...
Any advice or comments from my 2 regular readers (you know who you are) would be great, if only I could do comments on my damn blog!!!!!
