Friendly Waitress
Went out for a few beers with Dirk and Paul last night. Were served by one of the worst waitresses in Japan. First, we had to scream at her to get her to come over and get our order. Then, we pointed to the green Guinness signs everywhere, mentioned that it was St Patricks Day, and Paul asked:
`Excuse me, fine barwoman, what special discounts to you have on the splendid day of celebration?`
`None` was the rather gruff reply.
`Well, in that case, we should go somewhere else with a discount then`, I said jocularly.
`Please yourself` said Ms Friendly.
Dirk was delighted, as it reminded him of the time he spent living in London. Generally, service is good in Japan. This was hopefully just an abberation!
