Japanese Kids and Music
Peter asked an interesting question when we were at the concert:
'Where do all these Japanese kids hear about/learn about this music?'
Japanese music is generally fluffy, saccharine crap, but most young people seem to love it. Occasionally you meet a young Japanese person who is really into Blur, or Radiohead, or Moby, or Basement Jaxx, or Teenage Fanclub. Given that you don't get coverage of these kinds of bands on regular Japanese media, how do people here find out about these bands???
