Feeling quite positive again. Both Megumi and I have our sad moments, and we are both missing Rosie like crazy. It is amazing to think about what a huge impact she has made on our lives in her short life, but, as you can imagine, there is a kind of hollowness and emptiness without Rosie. I sometimes read through this blog and Megumi's blog, written when Rosie was in the hospital. We were so sure that Rosie was going to make it...
Life, although much different from before, goes on. Megumi is reading a lot about previous lives and afterlives. When you read so many examples of souls coming back and inhabiting different bodies, it makes you feel stronger, and we are convinced that Rosie's soul will come back to us in some form in the future. I have not found a good book yet in English, but will keep looking.
We are still not really up to looking at photos and videos yet. The ones of us with Rosie, where she is laughing, or reaching out to grab the camera or my nose or Megumi's hair are particularly difficult. I have 2 photos of Rosie sitting on my desk at work. She watches over me, urging me on.
Rosie, 一緒に頑張ろうね!
Posted by Gary at September 6, 2004 06:22 PMIf that's true about souls coming back in different forms, then I'm sure that Rosie will come back to you someday. And if it's not, I'm sure she's still watching over you.
Keep looking forward, you two.
Posted by: Jessica at September 7, 2004 02:41 PMOne of the central beliefs in reincarnation is that people do reincarnate in groups. Everyone you are close to, or is part of your life in any real sense today, you've known before. The roles may have been quite different, in that say, your Mother in this life may have been your best friend in another. But the idea is that each of us has something to teach and to learn from eachother and to help to draw out the qualities deep inside us.
Sometimes, a stay is brief, especially if the lesson to be learned was achieved. Little Rosie not only gave you a great gift and you to her but she also touched and I would go so far as to say changed, people she'd never met. I'm sure many of us, who kept a vigil with you through reading your blog, found that you, Megumi and Rosie opened our hearts just that little bit more.
If there is something to reincarnation, you were together before, you have been so in this life and will be together again. It's a beautiful thought.

i'm not an authority on spirituality as you know.
but i read that some native americans believed the person didn't die until all of that persons' friends and relatives had passed away. the spirit of the person remained in the stories and memories that people shared.
so according to this, your little girls' memory and spirit stays alive through your blog, videos, pics and your happy memories.
