Omiyamairi (Christening?)

Omiyamairi is when you take a baby to the shrine for the first time. The priest gives your new-born a blessing. We went a few weeks ago, with Megumi's parents.

Mummy and Baby

Megumi likes kimono, so wore one, and Angelie had a special dress, given to us by Grandma Araki. It was a hot and sticky day, but a nice experience.

Bonjour,

My wife is japanese, and I am french.

We have a son, "Petrus-Kotalo", approaching 100 days, and I am told that on that day it is traditional to dress him in a kimono and have an "official" picture taken.

I am trying to learn about this "100 days" tradition, and if it is the same as "omiyamairi" ?

Any info will be deeply appreciated.
Sincerely, and regards to Megumi
