GET IN!!!!

Anyone who has been reading for a little while will know that I play football. The Saitama Jets, founded in 1996, is a decent team of fairly competitive Japanese lads and assorted foreigners. We have played in the All-Japan ALT Soccer tournament since 2002, and seen it grow into a huge competition. This weekend was the national finals at Saitama Stadium, where the best teams from east and west Japan meet to battle it out for the title of national champions. As you can probably guess from this picture, we won!!!
Not only that, we beat our rivals, last year's champions, Ni-Ni-Niigata in the final.

Can you hear Niigata sing? No, nooooo.
Can you hear Niigata sing? No, nooooo.
Can you hear Niigata sing? We can't hear a , er....single...thing....

what no goal by goal run through of the greatest triumph in the Jets history?

Farthing and I were on the losing side of a mid-table battle in the second division of the intermidate level of the Southern Amateur League, so could do with some glory to read about...

Omedeto!

Tom
Thanks for being a sportsman (Tom plays for former champions Niigata, who had beaten us 4 consecutive times before this game).
Will,
Hopefully we can meet at the Jets 10-year reunion, if it happens...
Donners,
Oh it's coming, don't you worry (do you think I would miss an opportunity to big it up?) Check the Jets homepage sometime soon. I could start about my matchwinner in the quarter-finals, but I don't want to spoil the excitment!
