I was away for a few days, studying in England. That's not an excuse for a lack of posts, since I was slack before that! Actually, it is getting increasingly difficult to balance family responsibilities and studying and work. Ho hum...
Anyway, on the family front, all is fine. Megumi is huge! I am not sure how much bigger she will get, but she still has a few more weeks before the twins are born. Angelie is fine and dandy, getting brighter by the day. At bedtime, she now stands by the gate at the bottom of the stairs and says 'UP'. She also sits in her chair, grabs here bib and says 'MAMA', which means food. She certainly knows how to get what she wants.
Oh, one more...she can say 'baby'. Megumi shows off her ever-growing stomach, and has obviously taught her that there is a baby (let's not worry about plurals right now) inside. If you ask Angelie where a baby is, she lifts up her own shirt and pats her belly! Worryingly, she also pointed to my gut yesterday at bathtime and said 'BABY'...
Work is just, er work. The less said the better. The only thing worthy of note is that HR want me to become a 'qualified' project management instructor. They have been trying to figure out how to do training in English for foreign employees, and after I took a training session last month, they have decided that I am the man to conduct training in English. Should be interesting...
Studying is, as I said, tough at the moment. The beauty of the Warwick September Seminar is that it gives me a chance to focus only on the MBA for a few days. Unfortunately, the quality of the teaching was not as good this year as it was last year, so there were a few grumblings about wasted lessons. In general, though, it's good to see everyone again, and meet new people, as well as talking to professors and lecturers face to face.
I now have to concentrate on two final assessed essays for October, and exams in December. Twin babies will arrive some time in between and turn our world upside down as well!
So, that's a quick update. Hopefully, I will write again soon!!!
Posted by Gary at September 28, 2006 03:35 PMHi Gary,
Sorry, I was trying to get in contact with your cousin Matt Read, having read about his awful accident, can you possibly give me his address or e-mail?

PS Lovely pictures by the way!
All the best for the birth of the twins. I was huge this time last year (only one baby) so I feel for Megumi.
Posted by: Helen at September 29, 2006 09:17 PMHello Gary and Megumi-san,
This is my first time to write a comment on your lovely website! Now I am working at my Kadena Business Office by myself and just decided to have a lunch break. When I get so frustrated or even sad, I sometimes open your website to look at. Believe or not, somehow it makes me calm and happy again :) My family sometimes visits my apartment and have dinner with me. Often my mom and younger sister ask me about your website! There are more people who enjoy reading your website besides myself!
As I read your website, I feel that I would love to have such a wonderful family website (it is especially great to your children to know how they have been growing!) when I have my own family :)
I am also planning to show this website to my boyfriend who is in England. I think that he will enjoy as well!
Megumi-san, once you have twins, you and Gary will be super busy! This is definate! My family and I wish you and Gary to have wonderful twins! Once you start having planty of time to update your website, we would be so grateful to read your babies (Angelie and twin babies) diary!
Megumi-san and Gary, ga n ba tte ku da sa i! Ke n kou na a ka cha n ga u ma re ru ko to wo ne ga i, ta no shi mi ni shi te i ma su!
Have a great weekend!
