One of the most famous temples in Tokyo is in Asakusa. In the second picture, we are cleansing ourselves with steam. The picture on the right is from a former royal garden in Tokyo.
We had a fun day at Tokyo Disneyland, including some great roller-coasters (Dad wanted to go on twice!)
More Disney shots, and Dad and Marlene with our lovely landlady, Nozomi-san.
Nozomi-san and Akira-san (landlord and lady) took us out for dinner at a nice tempura and soba (noodles) restaurant.
Hiroshima castle, a temple on Miyajima island, and Marlene washing her hands before entering a shrine.
Megumi playing with deer on Miyajima, the Hiroshima Dome close to where the atomic bomb landed, and in front of the eternal torch of peace.
On the boat on the way over to Miyajima island, and the magnificent gate (torii)
Hakone is a couple of hours from Tokyo, close to the base of Mount Fuji. There is an open air art museum there, which seemed to bring the clown out of Dad somewhat!
The first picture is the "inn" we stayed at in Hakone, the second is Dad and Marlene frolicking in traditional Japanese inn-wear, and the third is dad enjoying the view from inside a cable car.
